Review: No Mallets Intended

No Mallets Intended
No Mallets Intended by Victoria Hamilton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was the first book I have read of Victoria Hamilton's and it was amazing. The mystery starts at the very beginning of the book and you are kept guessing who did what and why throughout the whole book. I found myself guessing and then guessing again trying to figure it out. The story made me feel like I was a part of the town, the descriptions of the homes, food and smells were so real! I can't wait to read more from this series and others by Victoria!!

Review: Her Favorite Hot Doc

Her Favorite Hot Doc
Her Favorite Hot Doc by Barbara Lohr

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The love story between McKenna and Logan is captivating. I enjoyed the character development throughout the book. The pace of the story line is exceptional. If you're looking for a romantic you have to pick up the Windy City Romance series!

The Windy City Romance Series by Barbara Lohr had me hooked in the first couple of chapters of book 1, “Her Favorite Mistake”, and carried over and intensified with each of the following books in the series, “Her Favorite Honeymoon” & “Her Favorite Hot Doc”. I loved how dynamic and real life like the story line was throughout the series. I was intrigued by each of the characters in the series: Vanessa, Amy, and McKenna. I also enjoyed seeing them evolve and interact through each of the stories. I like that each book focused on one of the three characters and the other two were secondary characters, it made me feel like I got a chance to find out more in depth of each of the characters. I love how the author develops this series story line and wonder if there will be a fourth book in the series?!?!?!

Amy was one of the secondary characters that stood out to me when I read first book “Her Favorite Mistake”, so I was happy to see that her story was second book in the series. Amy’s character reminded me of myself and it really felt like I was a part of the story. . Barbara Lohr delivers another cheery romance.

Review: Her Favorite Mistake

Her Favorite Mistake
Her Favorite Mistake by Barbara Lohr

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Her Favorite Mistake” really peaked my interest from the start. The story line is so dynamic one feels like they could relate with the struggles, mistakes, and family love. The interaction of the main character and her favorite mistake was fantastic…it had me laughing at times and wondering how it would turn out at other times. There is a nice balance of romance, humor, and personal relationships throughout the story.

Review: The Chocolate Garden

The Chocolate Garden
The Chocolate Garden by Ava Miles

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such a powerful story. It was amazing to see Tammy grow and blossom just like her gardens. This story made me laugh out loud, and cry uncontrollably. The children were amazing in dealing with the different situations and I loved the interaction John Parker had with them. I really enjoyed the lessons learned from each of their family members and they really made the story come to life. I also loved how food and especially chocolate played a role in the storyline. I would love the have a chocolate garden myself!! I can't wait to read Ava's next book in this series!!

Review: Dog Collar Crime

Dog Collar Crime
Dog Collar Crime by Adrienne Giordano

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I've read (listened to) by Adrienne Giordano and I am hooked. This was such a fun book - every time I laughed my husband would say "You're listening to that dog book again, aren't you?" I could not guess who was responsible for the different incidents that kept happening and there was just enough suspense to keep you guessing. I loved how the dogs personalities came through in the descriptions of each of them and really liked Lucie!! I can't wait to read more by this author!!

Review: Uninhibited

Uninhibited
Uninhibited by Melody Grace

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Melody Grace and I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. WOW - I was hooked from the very beginning!! The electricity between Alicia and Dex was amazing, I loved how they felt about each each other and the detail in describing each of the characters thoughts and actions was so good you feel like you are a fly on the wall. You can really relate to their circumstances and it really makes you realize that sometimes you have to live outside your comfort zone. This book really had my heart racing from the very start and I didn't want to put it down. I HAVE to get the rest of her books!!

Review: The Marriage Agenda

The Marriage Agenda
The Marriage Agenda by Sarah Ballance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book provoked so many emotions I don't know where to start. I wasn't sure what I would think about a book about politicians, but it was fantastic. I kept yelling at both Chloe and Knox throughout the book hoping each would wake up see what I could see about each of them. I felt that this book truly portrayed what could happen in a politician's life, even if books are supposed to be fantasy. I wished I was Chloe throughout the story, although I don't know if I could have handled all she went through.

Review: Love is...

Love is...
Love is... by Kate Pearce

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off, the layout of this book is so unique. I loved that there is a heat level rating and that each of the stories tell you what type of story it is and what the heat rating is. I loved how the stories made me feel. They may be short, but they were powerful. I found that as I finished each one I went to sign-up for the authors newsletter and liked their Facebook page (that information is found at the end of each story - really great so you don't have to leave the book to find more information) so I could read more by each of them. I am sure most everyone will enjoy this book collection.

Review: Turn Up the Heat

Turn Up the Heat
Turn Up the Heat by Kimberly Kincaid

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a powerful story. I loved how the story unfolded and how it felt like I was there experiencing the same feelings. I felt the way the story was written gave each character such depth. My heart raced with some scenes, I cried at others, I yelled at them (Yeah I know, they can't hear me) and the last 25% of the book really took me by surprise. I really look forward to reading more by Kimberly Kincaid.

This was such a fun book. What an interesting premise, do you believe in magically powers? I do now. It was such fun to learn about each of the cousins and how they handled their grandmother's request/rules. I loved the different locations each part was placed in and the descriptions of all the different characters. I can't wait to read more by these authors!!

Review: Four Weeks Till Forever

Four Weeks Till Forever
Four Weeks Till Forever by Nadia Lee

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is amazing. It felt so real and I really liked how the story unraveled. There are characters you will hate and there are others you will love. Friendships are true and honest. Does Hilary learn to trust men? Does Mark want to stay a playboy? You'll have to read it to find out!! I couldn't put the book down and I can't wait to read more by Nadia!!

Review: The Girl with the Cat Tattoo

The Girl with the Cat Tattoo
The Girl with the Cat Tattoo by Theresa Weir

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book had me laughing from the very start. I can really hear my cat saying/thinking the same things as Max. I absolutely loved how Max told his story and how he did his matchmaking. I could really relate to all the characters in this book. It is very well written and I enjoyed the romance in addition to the mystery. You don't have to love animals to love this book. I look forward to reading more by this author!! A side note - the book set I have has this pic as the cover, I have seen a different cover for this book and it doesn't give it justice. So the saying goes: Don't judge a book by it's cover!!

The Mutt and the Matchmaker
The Mutt and the Matchmaker by J.B. Lynn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. I found it very engaging and funny. I loved how the matchmaker really hit it on the head when she paired up these two. The emotions and interactions between all the characters were so well written they felt real to me, like I was Jane. I also really enjoyed how the dogs reacted to each of the characters and the roles they played. I would highly recommend this book to everyone and will definitely be reading more by J.B. Lynn!!

Review: The Park of Sunset Dreams

The Park of Sunset Dreams
The Park of Sunset Dreams by Ava Miles

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an awesome small town romance. I absolutely loved this book. Ava Miles made me feel like I was part of the story, from the descriptions of the scenery to the interaction between all the characters. I laughed and I cried. I loved the way the family members interacted and especially liked how the dogs played a roll in the story and helped describe the characters personality. This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I don't feel I missed anything by not reading the other ones, but I definitely will now.

This book is awesome. It is very well written and I could really relate to all the emotions that Jill went through. It made my heart race when Ryan did things for her. I seem to not be alone in the fact that this was my first Susan Hatler book and I read it as part of the Lucky 7 Bad Boys Contemporary Romance Boxed Set. I hope to be able to get the rest of Susan's books, as I am sure they will all be as great as this one was.
